Dermal Filler
Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler (filler) is a sterile bio-absorbable transparent gel of non-animal origin that is injected multiple times into the skin. It is used to smooth wrinkles and folds, contour, and enhance the face, lips, neck, ears, and hands. Hyaluronic acid (HA) naturally occurs in our skin to provide structural support and nutrients. Dermal Fillers are temporary. Once injected, naturally the body will slowly start to break them down. As soon as Dermal Filler is injected, our body starts metabolizing it. They usually provide an effect for an average of 6-18 months and this duration varies depending on a variety of factors including but not limited to: genetics, water intake, metabolic rate, type of skin, areas and amounts injected, and the type of filler. The longevity of lip filler is reduced because of the high vascularization and movement of this area. Touch-up treatments help sustain the desired degree of correction.
*Consultations are included with your appointments. It is extremely important that our Doctor's perform a detailed consultation going over your desired look, wants/needs, their professional recommendations and your pre/post care.
Dermal Fillers are used to restore volume and augment areas of the face. Areas of augmentation that we specialize include:

About Dermal Filler
Dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid, a molecule that naturally exists in the human body. They are non-animal-based and should have a crystal-clear appearance with a gel-like consistency. There are various types of dermal fillers available, each differing in texture, density, and injection depth. The choice of filler depends on the specific area being treated and your desired aesthetic outcome.
One of the key properties of dermal fillers is their ability to attract water molecules, which helps to plump up the skin. This leads to increased hydration and a radiant complexion. Most fillers also contain Lidocaine, an anesthetic agent, to enhance your comfort during the procedure. If you have an allergy to Lidocaine, please inform us so that we can ensure the use of a Lidocaine-free dermal filler.
One of the reasons why dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid are highly popular among patients and practitioners is their temporary nature. They can be dissolved if necessary, providing flexibility in achieving desired results. It is important to note that the effects of most dermal fillers typically last between 9-12 months.
At Derma Bar™, we prioritize your safety and satisfaction, which is why we start every appointment with a thorough consultation. During this consultation, we take the time to understand your specific concerns and carefully review your medical history. It is crucial that you provide us with complete and accurate information, including any allergies, skin or neurological conditions, or medications you may be taking. This allows us to ensure your safety and optimize your treatment results.
Additionally, we will take before and after pictures to document your progress and track the effectiveness of the treatment. These pictures will be kept in your confidential medical charts, providing a visual reference for future consultations and comparisons. Rest assured, your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us.
To ensure optimal results, we kindly request that you arrive for your appointment without any makeup. This allows us to thoroughly cleanse the treatment area and accurately assess any changes in your skin. Once the area is cleansed, we will apply a topical Lidocaine anesthetic to help minimize any potential discomfort. Depending on your preference and needs, we may also offer other pain management options such as topical ice or a dental block.
After approximately 15 minutes, we will proceed with the treatment. Our skilled injector will carefully administer the dermal filler using either a needle or a blunt tip cannula. Throughout the procedure, your injector will closely monitor your comfort and safety. The duration of most dermal filler treatments typically ranges from 45 to 60 minutes, ensuring that ample time is dedicated to achieving the desired outcome.
Following your appointment, it is normal to experience mild bruising and swelling, which should gradually improve over the next few days. To facilitate the healing process, we recommend refraining from strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours after receiving dermal filler. However, please note that specific instructions may vary depending on the treated areas, and your injector will provide you with personalized guidance.
Areas such as the lips tend to have more swelling. To alleviate any discomfort, we suggest applying topical ice, taking acetaminophen, and keeping your head elevated during sleep. These measures can help expedite the resolution of swelling. Additionally, you may consider using topical Arnica to reduce bruising.
During the initial two weeks, it is normal to experience lumps and bumps in the treated area. These typically subside on their own. To ensure the best outcome, we encourage you to book a follow-up appointment two weeks after your initial treatment. This will allow us to assess the results and make any necessary adjustments.

Areas we can treat with Toxin:
About Botox
Neuromodulators, such as Botox Cosmetic and Dysport, are injectable treatments that effectively relax wrinkles, frown lines, and crow's feet. These treatments involve injecting a small amount of botulinum toxin directly into the underlying muscle. As the muscle relaxes, the appearance of the overlying skin gradually smoothes out. The results of neuromodulator treatments typically last for about three months.
When the botulinum toxin is injected, it blocks certain nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. As a result, the muscles relax, leading to a reduction in unwanted wrinkles. This effect lasts for approximately 3 to 4 months. After this period, the muscles regain their movement, and wrinkles may gradually reappear.
Consultation: Before the treatment, you will have a consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. They will assess your concerns, discuss your goals, and determine if Botox is the right treatment for you. They will also explain the procedure, potential risks, and answer any questions you may have.
1. Preparing the Treatment Area: The healthcare professional will clean the treatment area and may apply a topical numbing cream to minimize any discomfort during the injections. This step ensures a clean and sterile environment for the procedure.
2. Injection Process: Botox is typically administered via a series of small injections directly into the targeted muscles. The healthcare professional will use a fine needle to inject the Botox solution into specific areas of your face or body, depending on the treatment goals discussed during the consultation.
3. Sensations During the Injections: You may experience a slight pinch or stinging sensation as the injections are made. However, most people find the discomfort to be minimal and tolerable. If you are concerned about pain, you can discuss the option of using ice or a numbing cream with your healthcare professional.
4. Duration of the Treatment: The entire Botox treatment usually takes around 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the number of injections and the size of the treatment area. It is a relatively quick and convenient procedure that can often be done during a lunch break or a spare moment in your day.
After receiving Botox injections, it is important to have realistic expectations about the post-treatment experience. Here are some common things you can expect:
1. Immediate Results: While the full effects of Botox may take a few days to become noticeable, you may see some initial improvement immediately after the treatment. However, it is important to note that the final results will become more apparent over the next week.
2. Temporary Side Effects: It is normal to experience some temporary side effects after Botox injections. These may include redness, swelling, bruising, or tenderness at the injection sites. These side effects are usually mild and should subside within a few days.
3. Gradual Relaxation of Muscles: Botox works by temporarily relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles and lines. You can expect to see a gradual reduction in the appearance of these wrinkles and lines over the course of a few days to a week. The full effects of Botox typically last for about three to four months.
4. Natural-Looking Results: Botox is designed to provide natural-looking results. The goal is to soften the appearance of wrinkles and lines while still allowing for natural facial expressions. You should still be able to make normal facial expressions after receiving Botox.
5. Maintenance Treatments: Botox is not a permanent solution, and its effects will gradually wear off over time. To maintain the desired results, you will need to schedule regular follow-up appointments for additional treatments. Your healthcare provider can advise you on the recommended treatment schedule based on your individual needs.

Popular areas of Sculptra:
About Sculptra
Collagen is a key structural component under the skin that provides volume, keeping skin looking youthful. Over time, our bodies make less collagen and our skin loses its elasticity and volume. This, along with environmental factors like sun exposure, lead to the appearance of wrinkles, lines and folds.
Anti-aging creams containing collagen cannot get below the surface of the skin to replace lost collagen. But, Sculptra can.
Sculptra works deep under the skin to naturally stimulate the body to produce its own collagen. As lost collagen is replaced, Sculptra gradually increases or restores volume to correct your wrinkles and folds. Over a series of treatments, your new youthful look emerges, so it is subtle and natural-looking. Plus, results can last over 2 years.*
Sculptra targets one of the underlying causes of facial aging: the loss of collagen. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), the main component of Sculptra, begins to work within the deep dermis (underlying skin) to gradually replace lost collagen. PLLA is biocompatible and biodegradable (absorbed naturally by the body).
To ensure your safety and optimize your treatment outcomes, we initiate every appointment with a comprehensive consultation. During this consultation, we carefully assess the specific area(s) of concern and thoroughly review your medical history. It is essential that you provide full disclosure of your medical history, including any allergies, skin or neurological conditions, and medications, as these factors can affect your safety and the effectiveness of the treatment. Additionally, we will capture before and after pictures to document your progress and maintain detailed records for reference.
For optimal assessment and visibility of any changes in the skin, we kindly request that you arrive for your appointment without wearing makeup. This allows us to properly cleanse the treatment area and accurately evaluate its condition. After the area is thoroughly cleansed, we apply topical Lidocaine to provide numbing effects. Alternative options for pain management may include the use of topical ice or a dental block. Following a 15-minute wait period to allow the numbing agent to take effect, we will proceed with the treatment. Sculptra will be administered using a blunt tip cannula under the close monitoring of your injector. Typically, the treatment duration is approximately 60 minutes.
Following your appointment, it is common to experience mild bruising and swelling, which are temporary and should gradually improve within the next few days. It is advisable to refrain from engaging in strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours after receiving dermal filler. However, specific instructions regarding post-treatment care will be provided by your injector, taking into consideration the areas that were treated. It is normal to experience redness, tenderness, and bumps in the treated area. To help expedite the resolution of these symptoms, you may consider taking acetaminophen and elevating your head during sleep. Additionally, applying topical Arnica can assist in reducing bruising. It is also normal to notice lumps and bumps during the first two weeks following the treatment. We highly encourage you to schedule a follow-up appointment three weeks after the initial treatment to assess the outcome of the injections.

About PDO Threads
Your non surgical face lift! PDO THREADS were originally created to help with ligament and tendon repairs because of their ability to induce our collagen production. Now adopted by the aesthetic industry, PDO threads are used to create a lifted, youthful, natural and rejuvenated look. Gwyneth Paltrow called threads the "under the radar approach." The insertion of threads produces tissue and simultaneous healing response in the treated area. The threads trigger the body's healing response causing a flood of collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin.
PDO Threads are especially known for creating that "fox eye" runway look.
PDO Threads can last 3 - 5 years, even if the threads themselve have dissolved.
Thread lifts are minimally invasive and are performed by our Emergency Room Doctors. PDO Thread procedures do not require any cutting or general anesthetic. We use a local freezing. When healing you can and most likely will experience bruising, swelling and discomfort..
PDO threads have been around for 30+ years and were originally designed for surgical procedures. Research has confirmed and demonstrated that PDO threads relaxes muscles, tendons while stimulating collagen production. PDO threads create a youthful, uplifted and rejuvenated look. Say goodbye to sagging skin!
Is PDO Threads safe?
PDO threads are proven to be safe and effective, with many years of extensive research.
What results can I expect?
Thread-lift treatments result in an instant and natural looking improvement in the appearance of the skin. A process of natural protein synthesis then begins af ter about 10-14 days. Over the subsequent weeks results will continue to improve, peaking at around 6 months and lasting for up to 2 years as your own body produce collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Making this form of non surgical facelift a very long lasting treatment. The thread itself is completely biodegradable and dissolves within 12 weeks, after which new collagen has formed around the thread to continue to support results, maintaining a smooth and supple texture of the skin.
